System Administrator

The System Administrator’s primary objective is to administer and implement end-user and infrastructure technology systems in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program.  Successful candidates may be called upon to assist in gathering, interpreting, and clearly communicating business requirements to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.

Job Requirements

  • Strong written and fluent English verbal communication;
  • Technical writing skills;
  • Good understanding of Operating Systems, file systems, user authentication, software installation and network communication;
  • The ability to troubleshoot and solve simple and complex problems;
  • High-level triage capability;
  • Ability to follow a flow chart and documentation.

Job Responsibilities

  • System Administrators typically are responsible for:
    • Initial interface for incident/service requests;
    • Investigate technology outages and escalate as needed;
    • Performs routine maintenance tasks on the infrastructure;
    • Proactive monitoring of information systems.
  • Document service actions,  incidents, procedures, and operational notes
  • Investigate technology outages and escalate as needed
  • Prioritize service requests and manage expectations.
  • Manage incident tickets
  • On call rotation for after-hours support

Job Skills/Qualification

Must Haves

  • Good understanding of Operating Systems, file systems, user authentication, software installation, and network communication;
  • The ability to troubleshoot and solve simple and complex problems;
  • Ability to prioritize service requests and manage expectations;
  • Ability to work and research independently and with team members when required.

Would be a Plus

  • Hands-on experience administering network infrastructure (router, firewall, etc.);
  • General Active-Directory experience;
  • Understanding how internet-based systems work;
  • Experience with Office 365, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams is a plus;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Telecommunication Information Management, or similar IT discipline and/or experience;
  • In-Depth Windows operating system experience (end-user devices and server environments);
  • Linux operating system experience is a plus.
