HOW TO SET UP NAMED ANCHOR

When using named anchors we can create links that can jump directly into a specific section on a page, instead of letting the user scroll around to find what he/she is looking for.

To set up named anchor:

1. Insert the named anchor within a content block
2. Add link to the named anchor:

   Named anchor resides in the same content block with the link to it

   Named anchor and link to it reside in different content blocks (probably on different pages)

Set up anchor to the block header

To set up named anchor:

1. Insert named anchor within a proper content block on the page.

   To insert named anchor you need to put mouse cursor to the place you want to make a link to. Then click "anchor" button on the control panel.

   

   Enter an anchor name on the appeared window. 1-9, a-z, "-", "_", ":", "." symbols without spaces are allowed in the anchor name. Also first character of anchor name have to be an alphabet character (a-z).

   

   Visual editor shows an anchor icon on the place where you insert it.

   

2. Add link to the named anchor.

   If named anchor resides in the same content block with the link to it:

   To add link select the text of the link and click link button on the control panel.

   

   Choose link type "anchor in this page", and then choose proper anchor name form the list which becomes available.

   

   Click ‘OK’ button.

   

   Publish the content block, than check the result at the site public area.

   

   If named anchor and link to it reside in different content blocks (probably on different pages):

   Publish content block you insert the anchor to. It should be done to make anchor available at the page anchor list.

   Open for editing content block you want to insert link to. Select the text of the link and click link button on the control panel.

   

   Enter URL of the page where the proper anchor is inserted. Appeared ‘Browse’ button shows all anchors for the page entered.

   

   Select proper anchor and click ‘OK’ button.

   

   Publish content block, than check result at the site public area.

   

To set up anchor to the block header:

Insert anchor to the block header:

1. Open for editing content block you want to insert the anchor to
2. Fill the Anchor Name field with the anchor name. 1-9, a-z, "-", "_", ":", "." symbols without spaces are allowed in the anchor name. Also first character of anchor name have to be an alphabet character (a-z)

   

3. Click OK button and publish the content block

Add link to the anchor:

1. Open for editing content block you want to insert link to (If you want to add link from the block bottom to its header, open the block you just added the anchor to again)
2. Select the text of the link and click link button on the control panel.

   

3. Enter URL of the page where the proper anchor is inserted. Appeared ‘Browse’ button shows all anchors for the page entered.
4. Select proper anchor and click ‘OK’ button.

   

5. Publish content block, than check result at the site public area.
