The small- to medium-sized moving companies in the U.S. have a problem in which they always have space left on their truck after picking up a job; they are always looking to fill their trucks 100% because in this way, they make more money on a trip. What they used to do is sit down and make phone calls to many moving companies in the area and ask them if they have some loads to give them for filling their trucks.
What this site does is solve this logistics problem that the movers have.
It is a place where movers can Post (or multiply post) and Search:
Moves
Labor
Trucks
Load
Lead
All searches can use the Radius in miles. For instance, you can find all Moves within 300 miles around New York City that will start on July 4, 2009.
For example:
Search for a load to fill their truck - Let's say a truck travelled with a load from Florida to New York. Now it is coming back to Florida and looking to take loads back to make more money.
Search for a Move - Let's say a company doesn't have a job one day, and they want to keep their people and trucks busy. Therefore, they look for a move that another company had but couldn't perform.
Search for Labor - Many times when trucks go from one state to another, there is only one driver on the truck. So when he reaches his destination, he is looking for people to help him load and unload the trucks
Search for Trucks - If a company needs a load to be shipped out and there aren't any trucks scheduled to go out, then the company can search for trucks that are available in its area to pick up loads.
Post Load - This is related to bullet point #4. Also, if a company has a load waiting in its warehouse and needs to find someone to take it, it can post the load so that someone looking for a load can find it. (It is probably best to first do bullet point #4 and search for an available truck in my area)
Post Move - If a company's salesperson booked a move for a specific day and the company can't perform the move, then the move can be posted so that other unbusy companies can search and find it.
There is another aspect to this item - Because of the Internet, many small companies that have web sites started booking jobs in other states that they can never go to and perform. So, by using the site, they can sell these moves to local companies in that area.
3 type of customers:
Small companies
Multi-branch companies
Val Lines
All companies from Level 2 and 3 can limit the postings as "visible" only for their own branches.
You can see tonnage for all loads and states.
Each company can receive daily e-mail which includes all new postings allowed for review.
Each customer can delete any of his or her own posting.
The Admin receives all requests via email for registration. He can approve and register new companies.
The other options:
Establish Val lines and multi-branch relationships between companies in database.
Search companies.
Checking the new companies.
Control the posting and removal settings
All overdue postings removed automatically from database.
"Midwest Wireless would recommend using BIT Studios to any organization with complex development projects or tasks.... Not only was it a quick turn-around for such an important piece of the project, it came to us in a very complete condition.... Midwest Wireless is extremely pleased, still, with the catalog [built by BIT Studios]."
